Black-and-white photography collection: Womanhood
With themes of intimacy, pain, violence, pain and passivity, Thomas explores themselves through this black-and-white photography collection. This striking collection is the newest of their black-and-white photography exploration. Titled ‘Womanhood’, these graphic and melancholic images portray a type of femininity the author experienced for over 20 years. This cathartic collection is an attempt to reconnect and examine the womanhood promised and taught to young girls.
This is the final project that will be released under the name of ‘Louise’. This project is a spiritual goodbye to that name.
When asked about this collection Louise said:
“I have spent so long researching and trying to produce a collection in ‘the right way’. I am finally allowing my photography to speak for itself and be explored as such. Whilst I grapple with the ideas within this project, I will let them be expressed as they present themselves”
